WORKING WITH THE POWER OF NATURE
Techniques and systems we use :

Solar powered cold store
1kw solar array produces the power for two 24V 150W dc refrigeration units which cool the internal air with the help of two 6W dc fans

Gravity fed rainwater irrigation
The natural slope of the farm is harnessed to collect, store and distribute rainwater to irrigate the polytunnels. 400 square metres of rubber sheeting collects the rain which is piped down hill to a 50 thousand litre storage tank and then, still by gravity, down to the tunnels.

Solar powered heated propagation
The 6kw array feeding the house, stores electricity in batteries which is used to protect the tender plants and propagator 24 hours a day.

Home produced potting compost and mulch
The grass areas and wild flower meadow are cut and collected for composting to produce all of our mulch and compost.
